DRF145 Advanced Drafting Techniques

Credits: 3

You will learn to visualize complex sections from standard orthographic views. The development of complex views using primary and secondary auxiliary views and the development of complex flat patterns for sheet metal work are taught. Welded fabrication and American Welding Society symbols (which are now the adopted world standard) will be taught to prepare you for the American Design Drafting Association certification. The rules of two-point perspective are reviewed, and the perspective of a small house is drawn to prepare you for a thorough treatment in AutoCAD, which is more suited to this technique.

Prerequisite: DRF100
